Indian-Origin Man Charged with Stealing Donations from Temples in Canada

A 41-year-old Indian-origin man named Jagdish Pandher from Brampton in Canada has been charged with five counts (five different theft cases) of breaking into temples and taking away (stealing) money from donation boxes three times and two different breaking and entering cases at business premises located in Canada’s Peel region.
The accused would break into the places of worship and other commercial sites of Peel Region to steal away money from there. He broke open temple donation boxes three times and other cash boxes two times at business premises in Peel region to steal money. In a joint operation and raid conducted by Peel police with other police departments in the Greater Toronto Area, he was arrested from Peel region area. Surveillance footages captured in CCTV (kept in the temple) caught him while breaking into temples and stealing money from donation boxes.
As per reports revealed by Peel police, several break-and-enter cases were reported from different regions of Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga between March and August 2023.
Peel police investigated the matter, thoroughly examined the CCTV footages and finally arrested him as the prime suspect. According to Peel Regional Police, this Indo-Canadian man (of Punjab-origin) was involved in two other incidents of breaking into two business places and stealing an undisclosed amount of money. Police officials investigated three break-in cases at temples where he was found in surveillance camera footages while he was taking money from donation boxes. Peel Regional Police is confident that Jagdish Pandher committed the crimes form his desire to steal cash. Motivated by any hate, he has not done these.
