Anti-Israel Protesters Shout ‘Go Back to Europe’ Outside a Synagogue North of Toronto

Members of the Jewish community expressed their deep concern over the growing anxiety that started rising from Toronto-area synagogues by anti-Israel protesters in Canada. Anti-Israel protesters blazed an Israeli flag and started shouting slogans against them with repetitive chants of “Go back to Europe”. Many times they shouted “Go back to Europe, Intifada, revolution”-before burning the Israeli flag in front of the synagogue.

The leader of the organization in Thornhill, Rabbi Daniel Korobkin said that religious sites must not be included or chosen for such demonstrations. The anti-Israel protesters showed their demonstrations while his synagogue was hosting an Israeli real estate event on Thursday afternoon.

According to him, a civil Canadian must abide by the line in Canada that no one can encroach on a house of worship. God is the same to all. This is why it is not right- the encroachment of a god’s house. In the midst of the demonstrations outside of his Toronto synagogue, Korobkin told the National Post that it was against Canadian civil rule.

Rabbi Daniel Korobkin said that the demonstration had made him sad. He felt unhappy from the core of his heart.  He said that was not right and expected from civil Canadians. He added that this should not be allowed. He reacted to it and told that Jewish communities condemn this encroachment. They (Jews) would neither do this type of demonstration to a Muslim mosque nor encroach on their deity’s property. Mentioning that some mosques in Canada praised Hamas (Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiya), one of the largest militant groups in the Palestinians, he demanded justice as it was a violation of the criminal code set in Ontario.
